Maynard James Keenan (born James Herbert Keenan on April 17, 1964) is an American rock singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, actor, winemaker, and businessman, best known as the vocalist for the progressive metal band Tool, the alternative rock band A%20Perfect%20Circle, and the progressive rock band Puscifer.

Keenan's music career began in the 1980s when he performed with various bands before forming Tool in 1990. He is known for his distinctive vocal style, often incorporating growls, screams, and melodic singing, and his introspective and often philosophical lyrics. Beyond his work with these bands, he has also been involved in various side projects and collaborations.
